Well, I've finally done it. I've created a blog for my art!
I've resisted until now, but I want a more intimate place to showcase all the art I create.
I love posting on Instagram (Motley Mixed Media), and creating videos on YouTube (Motley Mixed Media with Mary S). I also have a small group on Facebook that I want to grow, so join me there too (MotleyMixedMedia: Share the ART!).
I look forward to sharing with you some videos, tutorials and pictures of what I do on a daily basis in my little craft room.
Here's a little bit about me:
I am a self taught mixed media artist, starting about 5-6 years ago with ATCs on Swap-Bot (a snail mail art site), found YouTube videos by Donna Downey and Gabrielle Pollacco and discovered that the more art supplies I could use in a piece I was creating, the happier I was.
I started collecting supplies and creating in my spare time. When we moved to a bigger house, I was able to put all my supplies in my own room instead of hogging my husband's office. LOL
When I'm not crafting and making a colorful mess, I am mom to two wonderful boys and a mutt. My husband is very supportive, and is creative in his own right, making shelves and other items in his garage workshop to decorate our house.
We live in Southeastern Michigan, enjoying the four seasons that this great state has to offer. The boys are in school full time and that gives me time to create, when I'm not working as a Respiratory Therapist at a local hospital.
Well, thanks for sticking with me so far! My goal for now is to post once a week, hopefully inspiring everyone with my art.
